Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 28, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how thedigitalresume.in uses cookies and similar local storage technologies to make our platform functional, fast, and personalized.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide security and session persistence. Local storage is a similar browser technology that stores data on your device locally.
2. How We Use Cookies and Local Storage
We believe in ultimate data privacy, so **we do not use any third-party marketing, tracking, or advertising cookies**. The only cookies and storage mechanisms used by our platform are strictly functional:
- Essential Session Cookies: We use cookies to handle security and verify your identity when accessing the `/generate` wizard page. These secure HTTP-only cookies store your Supabase Auth session state to prevent unauthorized access and count your portfolio credits.
- Design & Theme Preferences: We use browser `localStorage` to save your selected design preferences, theme options (light/dark values), and builder choices so that they are not lost if you refresh the page.
3. Detailed Breakdown of Cookies Used
Here is a list of the cookies and local storage tokens we utilize:
- tdr_session: An essential, secure, HTTP-only cookie set by our server. It holds your validated login session token.
- sb-access-token / sb-refresh-token: Essential token keys set by Supabase Auth CDN scripts to connect your frontend browser securely to the Google OAuth login provider.
- tdr_theme: A local preference key stored in browser `localStorage` to save your last selected color theme direction (light or dark mode) on the landing page.
4. Managing and Disabling Cookies
Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can change your browser settings to prevent that or notify you when a cookie is set.
Please note that because our cookies are **strictly essential for user authentication**, disabling cookies will prevent you from signing in with Google, accessing the portfolio generator at `/generate`, or uploading your resume. You will, however, still be able to read our static pages.
5. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. We encourage you to periodically review this page to stay informed about our minimal use of cookies.
